I lived in Minneapolis in the 70’s, protested the Vietnam war there. They have a strong, smart resistance, so proud of Minnesota!

Minnesota is strong. ❤️ God bless them for marching out against Orange Ice thuggery and our Demented president and his evil minions.

Thanks, God! This is our town (I live in Minneapolis). Don't ever mistake Minnesota Nice for Minnesota STRONG. We are PEACEFULLY united! It's freaking cold here and we stand together, helping our neighbors.

So proud of you all, Cathy. The brave people of Minneapolis are an inspiration and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Hugs and support from the high desert of Southern California. 💙

Far be it from me to question the word of GOD, but it was -20 F air temp with wind chills around -40 F when I let the dogs out to do their business around 6:30 yesterday morning. While I had planned to march yesterday, I did wimp out when the air temp at the time of the march was only -12 F with wind chills around -25. F

I honored the boycott and was shocked and amazed at how many businesses shut down yesterday to honor the strike.

While there has been a fair amount of ICE activity during the day, the last 2 nights when we were commuting (our term for driving around neighborhoods, looking for ICE activity), it has been relatively quiet.

There were a couple of ICE vehicles outside a particular apartment building in Saint Paul last night, but they did nothing other than try to draw off observers. We had 5 vehicles in the area, compared to their 2 or 3, and I think they just gave up

Maybe the cold, and shifting focus to Maine, Chicago or Philadelphia is lessening the attention to the Twin Cities? One can only hope. And pray

You all are amazing! My godmother lives in the Twin Cities and keeps texting me about how much worse things are than what is being shared outside the state.

True to conviction means taking a stand despite the weather. Or, maybe because of the weather. It's serious business, either way. Peaceful resistance is only ever "good trouble."

I am in awe of the brave souls throughout the nation who exercise their right to protest - often at the risk to their personal health and safety. Normally, protests of this magnitude would force the change the protests address. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the current protests will have the desired effect simply because DJT just doesn't care. As long as he can line his pockets, as long as his MAGA minions keep drinking the Kool-Aid, as long as he gets what he wants, no amount of protests will matter. We need to hit him where it hurts him the most - in his bank account, his power, and his vanity.

So inspiring. Who’s next? General strike for all!

A message should be sent to the oligarchs who turned MAGA: Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg, the Ellisons, all these assholes

Please give Trump a terminal case of haemorrhoids, as You know he deserves it with his awful diet.

This weenie raised in Southern California simply cannot imagine demonstrating in minus-ten. After moving east, I briefly ventured outdoors at three-below-zero just to experience the c-c-cold!

When the temps reach that low, and this is not a joke, it actually hurts to have exposed skin for even a minute. One of the dogs yesterday was putzing around outside, I went out to encourage her to come in, and even with that short of time outside I could feel it on my face.

Kudos to all the anti-ice protesters!

The citizens of Minnesota have established our underground resistance. They are continuing to endure the harshness of a regime, the illegalities, the brutality, the weather and shown the strength and backbone of an American. This is for some who forgot who we are. There are times that the reminder needs to smack those in their faces that the strength is with the people and that those in DC need to hear it loud. All heroes do not wear capes we are all heroes by doing everything we can. It’s up to the rest of us to take the baton and run with it. Have been reminded by Fred Roger’s more and more “Look for the helping people” Thank you Minnesota — L'etoile du Nord (translation: “Star of the North”)

“To see men without clothes to cover their nakedness, without blankets to lay on, without shoes... marching through frost and snow... and submitting to it without a murmur, is a mark of patience and obedience which in my opinion can scarce be paralleled. If those few thousand men endured that long winter of suffering... what right have we to be of little faith?" ~ George Washington Valley Forge (1777–1778)

Way to arrest the clergy. I’m sure they are domestic terrorists which is what ICE is now calling protesters.

HI2thDoc's avatar

The domestic terrorists from our own gubmint are calling the citizenry domestic terrorists. More bullshit from the biggest bullshitter regime in history

Bless the heroes! I live in Houston and we're preparing for the cold to hit here so yesterday I went to check on my friend who lives at the Wrinkle Ranch (HUD housing for the elderly). When I walked in the building, I realized the cold front had come a little early there as I saw an ice hole strolling the building. Why would he be stalking elderly people ahead of a deadly storm? What about it, Asshat Abbott?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Just adding an editorial comment…

Somehow I doubt trump will be in the cold and snow/sleet in DC this weekend. I think everyone in Florida should show up at Mar-a Largo and protest his orange butt

-10 was only the temperature. The windchill was running between -25 and -45 depending on the time of day.

I said that in the article

I see you are verifying your subscribers - good! Can't be too careful these days! I stood out for only an hour yesterday at our weekly protest in my small town. It was worth the frozen toes/fingers to witness to others that WE ARE NOT OK! Minnesotans keep me going. The elderly Mineesotan Hmong gentleman dragged from his home in his underwear in this weather keeps me going. The dream of a free, fair, truthful America keeps me going!

AND he was a CITIZEN! They kept him outside in his underwear and a small blanket for an hour. I'm surprised they let him put on his shoes. 🤬 He wasn't illegal, he wasn't a criminal - they just wanted an example to instill fear. Looks like it didn't work. 😁
