When a person dies, unless they are buried in the yard (as in the TV show Shameless), the undertaker notifies Social Security. Since a person receiving Social Security retirement benefits does not begin receiving a check until the month AFTER they begin to collect, they are entitled to keep the check they received in the month of death. IDK what they are looking for and how much money they expect to recoup. Now if they are talking about SSI, which is essentially federal welfare and a paltry sum at that - lucky if you can buy groceries with that amount - that is an "entitlement" not the money I paid in (double as a self-employed person), but it seems that they don't know the difference. I have no problem paying for people to have SSI. It's the least we can do for the disabled. I am going to live to 100 just so that I can get every penny and then some. LOL. Musk is a waste of life. Glad to see the protests. It gives me hope.

Nothing less than expected from people that have no idea what they are doing.
