Being on Bluesky is the first time I've been on social media in a few years. There's an intelligence level there that surpasses the others. I don't have to scroll through ignorant rhetoric and hope to come across something worthy. The only thing Facebook was good for was cat pictures, and there's plenty of those on Bluesky too!
Like I posted on Bluesky, I've been on there reading posts more in the first three days than I did the entire time I was on Twitter/X (and I joined them in 2009!)
My favorites are the space/nature pictures and anything discussing the incoming shit show that is the Orange Ignoramus.
Just in: The Atlantic just posted a great article about BlueSky and the X exit, if there are any subscribers here. Unfortunately, they did not mention Substack as an alternative, but I bet more people will be joining in the future.
No, no, it’s good that they didn’t mention Substack! It’s like spoiling an oasis vacation spot by writing an article about it, then the tourist hordes show up. 😊
Love this letter, particularly feeling “I’m so glad the left finally has a safe place where we can organize and strategize and love each other because boy howdy do we need it”. I’m definitely down with the plan, and I’ve been sharing project 2029 widely, which was a brilliant piece of writing and an excellent plan.
I am not a leftest but signed up for Bluesky. I think Bluesky should feel like the place to turn to for anyone who is not a MAGA devotee. That way we can also share in pro-democracy discussions and hopefully relegate X to the Truth Social followers. We don't have to listen to Musk's hateful rhetoric or the right-wing trolls on his site.
If the only benefit we see is that we all spend less time responding to trolls, this will still be a spectacular win. I never connected with Twitter, so maybe this will work out better. See you there! @thaumechanic.bsky.social
Yeah, like the conservatives don't abuse on social media! Give me a break. I have had them come at me on Instagram. I ignore them. Some of them have nothing better to do than troll social media looking for a fight. Trivia: Best known echo chamber? Basement of old round Capital Records building (I think it was Capital, correct me if I am wrong) in Hollywood!! Lots of hits came from there!!
Thanks be to God for Bluesky! I propose that we add PROJECT 2029 as another book in the Bible. That would REALLY make maga heads spin off their bodies.
From the sound of this I just might support Blue Sky, I've been on Quora and it appears that the Right-wing trolls have kind of taken it over as well. I NEVER was on Twitter and will never grace X's site because it's also right wing anymore. But may just check out Bluesky! It's sound's more up my alley!
I’ve been wondering if this might be a good time to re visit, and do a deep dive into Douglas Adams’ canon of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”? In addition to Star Wars, it seems that there are so many insights into our current situation
The only relief we have is knowing how many of us left leaning principled people exist and that we know how to find one another.

Love that "wanker" is becoming a prominent curse word in the USA vocabulary 😀
I don’t care what right wing MAGATS think. If I cared, I'd still be watching and listening to their bullshit. Let them all hold hands and drown in it.

I didn't think of it that way! You are right!

I entered the echo chamber. Now the challenge will be to not explore or doomscroll until my eyes fall out of my head.

The force is with us.

A question for God:
Dear God,
I’ve been wondering if this might be a good time to re visit, and do a deep dive into Douglas Adams’ canon of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”? In addition to Star Wars, it seems that there are so many insights into our current situation
42!
