The problem, I keep thinking, is that the Trump followers who are disappointed in him are still racist, xenophobic misogynists. They’re not angry because people are suffering, they are only angry because they themselves are suffering.

Baby steps. As long as they are angry and suffering.

Agreed. A sad time for humanity.

But MAYBE if they come to see that their suffering can be remedied by "socialism" maybe they will listen at least to some of what Bernie and AOC and the world have to say. And in the meantime, they deserve it.

The Bernie-AOC tour is great! However, I am truly alarmed that the dems have caved in and will vote for the CR. Schumer is a terrible leader - his public speaking is embarrassing, he has no fire and is not inspiring. He should rally the dems to vote no and blame the repubs. But, alas the dems have a problem with direct messaging and so are fearful it will backfire because they can't communicate their case for not surrendering what little power they have left.

Schumer is a DINO. He needs to get the hell out of the way for real democrats that have a spine and an understanding of what the electorates are waiting for. Bernie and AOC are great and there are a few others. The spineless defuses that can’t stand up to the bullies are the reason some democrats chose not to vote.

Dear Democratic "Representatives":

No matter how good you think you are, your job right now is not to raise money for re-election, so you can win again in 2026.

Your only job right now is to push back ferociously against the Musk/Trump regime 100 percent all day. If you are not doing that, you need to go.

We are not only watching your actions, we are also watching your LACK OF ACTION. For most of you, your political life is over for kissing the ring.

Do your job or get out.

PS: Chuck Schumer, you are a TRAITOR to the party and to all of America for your cowardly actions kissing the ring. YOUR CAREER IS OVER, in both parties. Grow a spine. Develop some integrity.

Add Michigan Senator Gary Peters - he betrayed us too!

I live in MI. Last night I sent this email to both Slotkin and Peters: "Please vote NO on the upcoming CR. As the child and ex-wife of *3* federal employees of DoD, I know firsthand how devastating a shutdown can be. However, the provisions in this CR are far more devastating and will have horrible consequences far into the future. You work for the people of Michigan, ma'am [sir], and the people do not want this resolution. Make the Republicans actually *govern*, and not just slash, burn, dictate, and destroy."

Tonight I followed up with Peters: "I am both disappointed and disgusted by your "yes" vote today on the CR. You have helped to hand Pres Musk and his figurehead a blank check and permission to inflict more pain on your constituents while continuing to enrich themselves and their cronies. If we are ever permitted another free and fair election, please be assured that you will NOT receive my vote."

I know it won't do anything positive, but it does make me feel better.

NOT all "the dems," thank you. MY Dems, Schiff and Padilla, are strongly voting "NO" against the true Ponzi scheme. >:-/

It does irritate the crap out of me, though, that Schumer won't even consider other possible options, like a 30-day "here's some cash, ya fuckin' piranhas" to keep what little remains open while they hammer out something better than what the Rethugs are offering. X-P

My dems (MD) are also voting no, but collectively they don’t message well on the national stage and it’s hard to see them not working together.

I agree re Schumer. He knows he's on his way out. The government is halfway shut down already and they are in the process of gutting the rest so what's the difference if it gets shut down a little sooner.

Sorry, but I need to make a correction. It isn't "a dumbass or a serial liar". It should be a dumbass AND a serial liar. Do you mean a margin call like in the movie "Trading Places"? Oooooo! I would love to see that!

I am afraid to say it, but Schumer needs to be primaried. Thank you, God! Amen! Awomen! Ramen!

Thanks for “The Bright Side Of Life” this morning! The Pythons will always help with the “down in the dumps” feelings generated by these awful, terrible, horrible, no-good very bad asswipes in Washington.

I truly hope Tesla stock DOES dip that far, because watching F-Elon go into a ketamine fueled tantrum would be stunningly insane. So much so that perhaps his personal monkey would take a bat him once and for all.

Thought this might amuse you, God. Back in the innocent '80s there was a UK comedian/impressionist called Phil Cool. It turns out he was prescient. Here he is from Youtube doing what he thought was a "Stingray Monster" - turns out it was really Elon Musk. . .
