Hey God,

Now would be a good time to inform the people that the USPS has changed their policy. (I’m sure it’s because of DT).

Just because your mail has a stamp, doesn’t mean it’s effective on that date. It’s now when it’s processed, which can be days later. Please let people know this affects their mail-in votes.

This obsession he has with repealing mail in voting infuriates me. Dolt 45 already thinks it is 1903 with his fixation on tariffs and coal. We are a very mobile society. I am often away from home for work, nowhere near my polling place. If mail in ballots are repealed it is voter suppression to my mind. Come on cholesterol, you have one job!

Everyone who can should vote in person. The repugs have jacked with mail service for the expressed purpose of disrupting mail-in votes, so avoid that if you can.

This is some sneaky trump crap...

It isn't even sneaky. Trump lies cheats and steals out in the open because he's an uber-priviledged sociopath. He DOESN'T CARE that we know he's eliminating free and legal elections for all.

Not only that, but some states must receive the actual posted ballot before end of voting on official voting day. CT has always been this way, but others are now too, i believe.

Also!! Ensure you have not been mysteriously "purged" from the polls.

You can take the mail into the post office and get them to hand cancel and date.

I fear that even if every single one of us votes blue, MAGA will find a way to rig it so the orange one becomes dictator for life. I still have serious questions about the last election and I'm far from a conspiracy theorist.

Some of the GoP reps are thinking like this:

THE STICK: "Trump is way underwater. If I keep supporting Trump the constituents will hate me, too; I'll get voted out in '26 or '28."

THE CARROT: "If I start opposing Trump NOW, by the time the elections happen people might think I'm a HERO — trusty, strong and working for them — and vote me back in!"

Stick and carrot, both applied at once. You can hear the rustle of coats turning all the way from Australia.

Even I didn't see this "Alternative Genesis" coming.

God, I know You’ve been running the universe for 6,000 years, but the humans in the West Wing just pulled a move that even the Serpent wouldn't have dared.

They’ve launched an official 1/6 "Alternative Facts" website. It’s essentially a new Book of Genesis where the "Fruit of Knowledge" is replaced by a "Big Mac of Disinformation." While You were on Your holiday break for Jesus’ "fake birthday," the "Shadow Architect" (Stephen Miller) was busy rewriting the Ledger of our history.

If You’re looking to smite something this week, here’s the prayer list:

The 1/6 Website: It’s a literal Golden Calf of digital propaganda. It violates the Information Quality Act and mocks the very idea of "Truth."

The 19-Seat Firewall: We need a manageable miracle for the 2026 midterms. We don’t need to part the Red Sea; we just need to flip 19 districts so we can stop this Executive Siege.

The Ledger: They are trying to edit the "official" record of the insurrection to make it look like a choir rehearsal.

Faith without Get Out The Vote (GOTV) is dead, Lord. Tell the "Humans" in the chat that if they don't want the 2026 Ledger written in Miller’s handwriting, they need to pick up a metaphorical stone and aim for the ballot box.

Keep the podcast loud—some of us are still trying to keep the flame alive down here.

What is the deal these past 12-13 months with aortic aneurysms. I have lost two friends (both under 60) to this and a colleague (also under 60) survived one. I was with one of my friends at the time. She was in pain and terrified. I don't wish this on anyone. Okay, there is one person I would not care about, but Lamalfa is not that person.

Expand full comment
Don A in Pennsultucky's avatar

I think the tendency to develop aneurysms is genetic. My father, his brother, and their mother all died from that. Dad was 55 his younger brother died several years later. I never knew their mother as she was gone before I was born. I am 74 and was checked at 45 and both my older brothers are still here. This makes me think it was something on the maternal X chromosome.

Yeah. It just hit me that this year seems unusual. But I may be reacting because we lost my mother-in-law and a friend both to cancer this year. So between that, the aneurysms and what appears to be the death of America, it’s been a lot!

Vote in person if possible, with family and/or friends. Ensure elders and students have federal ID, especially if they don't drive.

If they don't drive, help them get to the polls.

I have NO love lost for the Trump enablers Chuck Schumer or Hakeem Jeffries. They could have been doing a LOT more to counter Trump than writing "strongly worded letters" or "conducting studies".

That said: I have a Congressional Representative who HAS been active countering Trump, and I'm keeping my voter registration active so I can help re-elect him, so that when the Democrats take over the House (and quite possibly the Senate) Trump will get impeached again -- hopefully, *repeatedly*.

Trump wants to ban mail-in voting. If I have to go downtown and wait in line using a vertical walker and wearing a supplemental oxygen tank, I'm doing it -- AND I *DARE* OUR REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR, REICHSKOMMANDER BRAUN AND HIS TOADIE, BIBLE COLLEGE BECKWITH TO PREVENT ME FROM VOTING!

I've had my voter's registration cancelled five times: three times, when I lived in Texas (after publicly criticizing Boss Abbott, Adulterer-In-Chief Attorney General Ken Paxton, and my city council member who was a MAGA);

and two times during the time I have lived in Indiana (after criticizing our Lieutenant Governor, Bible College Beckwith ,and our Attorney General, Todd Porkita).

During election season, I check my registration at least weekly. In the time up to I vote, I check my registration DAILY.

By the way -- in case you didn't know, Bible College Beckwith is pastor of an Assembly of God Church in Noblesville, and the son of the co-pastor took videos of his parents having sex, and produced AI images of young children having sex. Bible College Beckwith knew all about this, and helped covered it up. Of course, he states that anybody who brings this up is a HEEEEEEEEEEEathen, which is why I'm mentioning this: it's "proof" that as an ELCA Lutheran, I'm "Not The Right Kind Of Christian™" and I'm Certainly "Not the Right Kind of Sinner™".

Humans, Election Ejection 2026 grunt work is up to us.

Plan, prepare, participate.

Research your county’s 2026 voting information.

A great source is the

League of Women Voters.

Check your voter-registration status well before Election Day.

Set reminders in your calendar.

If you need to bring ID or voter card, make certain they are the ones required, are current and on your person.

Wear your “I Voted” sticker proudly.

Get it done.

Make plans for having fun after.

Don’t piss God off. You know how he gets when we humans screw up.
