When I watched that man, who has served this country speak his mind, I got goosebumps. Watching other Americans toss him out was heartbreaking. I don't care what uniform you wear, keep your hands off our veterans you dirty bastards.
Maybe they were doing it based on the whole "peaceably assemble [to protest]" thing and thought he wasn't being peaceful? :-/
But the last time a rent-a-cop 3rd party business kicked someone out, that business got busted, so now apparently they're relying on the county sheriff's deputies or such, and in my experience, they've been more eager to bust heads than even city cops... X-P
GOOD ON HIM. The way veterans are being treated now is abhorrent. Being a veteran myself, I have Thoughts about the current regime, beginning with the VA. On Friday I went to check on the status of my VA disability increase claim on the VA website and it's not there. like gone, like I never filed it. Now, this might be a glitch in the VA's website or database, but given /waves hands/ EVERYTHING I can't help but be suspicious.....
Don't forget that Dumpy is also trying to deport a man who has permanent legal residence here in the US because he protested in a way that Dumpy doesn't like. Americans, do you truly believe Dumpy's going to stop there?
Dear God, I happily paid for a year of your enlightenment. Whether I can pay to renew depends on keeping my Social Security income, paying my mortgage, cellphone & wifi bills. My daddy fought the fascists and here I am repeating history without the nifty government paid uniform🤯.
Same here! I, too, got a yearly sub (and I, too, will have to see if I can renew it...), and my dad and his older brother fought in WWII. Unk was over in the Pacific (largely in military bases, guarding people even smarter than he was; the "egg heads" and "whiz kids"); Daddy was in Europe. :-/
Dad passed fairly recently (after his brother), in 2015, and if he'd been more...concerned? aware? of current happenings then, he'd've smelled this shit coming a mile away. X-P
Too bad Canada couldn't have, instead of that tiny red carpet, left a pile of bullshit at the bottom of the stairs for Lil Marco. Preferably a steaming pile at that
I don't know why they bothered. It looks as though since it was already sitting in the puddle, they should have let him try to sidestep it. That would have been comedy gold.
Hmm; maybe it was like Raleigh putting down his cape to "protect" Elizabeth I from that nasty puddle? ;-)
(Though there were rumors he was already on the "outs" with her, and he wasn't covering up a puddle, but some Elizabethan insult he'd scrawled in the mud... X-D)
It would have been wonderful if everyone else in the place stood up and started yelling at Edwards, too. Would they have hauled everyone away?? It would have sent a stronger message. God, please bless Jay, even if he voted for Chump. We need everyone like him we can get! Amen! Awomen! Ramen!
This is the first time I’ve ever looked forward to hearing the word of God. Also the first time ever that God didn’t sound like a Republican prosperity preacher.
I grew up in a Republican family in the 1970s. I remember when Republicans respected veterans. I also remember when Republicans believed in responsible budget management, instead of smash and sack and slash and burn recklessness. I'm old.
Sigh...I remember when Lincoln was called the first Republican president (he was; and I just /heard/ about it, I'm not old enough to remember it personally, despite what others claim! :D). I remember being shocked to find out that Teddy Roosevelt, who for the most part (he wasn't perfect; few are, if any) championed a lot of progressive causes, was Republican. I liked what I'd heard about Ike and his platform (it was mostly his Congress that sucked [McCarthy, anyone?]). Even Barry Goldwater mellowed down for the better, eventually, imho; hell, even Nixon signed into law tons of stuff (and helped create important real, existing government departments) that we'd been fighting for back in the 60s, though it may have been a political stunt on his part; I could be mis-recalling and not remembering Congress overriding his vetoes of it all (comments from folks older than me who remember better?)...
Hell, Schwarzenegger made me wish he'd been born an American citizen so HE could've been president vs. the Mango Mussolini we've got now, if we had to deal with a Republican president. X-P
Needless to say, Reagan did a ton of awful things, but even he wasn't this bad...and his orange hair dye was way better than Dumpty's spray-"tan." ;-)
Now, what you hate to see, though, is when Mike Johnson or whomever stands up and insists that this guy was a plant, a paid protester paid by Soros. Yeah, if we were getting paid by anyone, there wouldn't be a problem, would there.
More and more of us must do this to fight back against this corrupt, evil administration. Private Bone Spurs has completely lost his mind, as we all know. Seeing the pushback against Viktor Orban in Hungary is THRILLING. Thousands marching in the streets. His days are numbered. People all over the world are rising up against these fascist monsters. And we will too.
I do love the 12th Doctor's "Zygon Inversion" speech from Doctor Who (the 10:40 version on YouTube), where the Doctor asks a young hothead alien terrorist, basically, once they'd won against Earth, if they win:
"What're you going to do about the people like YOU?" [pointing at her, very serious] "How are going to protect your 'glorious revolution' from the next one?"
"We'll win." [smirk]
"Oh, will you? Well! Maybe you /will/ win!" [trickster's fake grin, then:] "But nobody wins for long. The wheel just keeps turning. So come on. Break the cycle." [of cruelty begetting cruelty and it never ending]
My husband is an EOD tech in the army. Since the election his whole company has refused to replace the Commander in Chief picture. Donold has pissed off the very people that take an oath to protect him
No, thankfully; they take an oath to protect the country and Constitution from "all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC." (emphasis mine)
Let's hope the rest of the folks on the front lines (vs. the ones in charge of the computers) refuse to follow repugnant orders from the Idiot-in-Chief, like "Attack your friends, neighbors, and extended family members across the Canadian border! Now!"
I'm not American, but I have wondered: if the US service people have taken the oath to defend the constitution, the very constitution that Mump seems to be shredding, the very structure of government that Mump seems to be dismantling, should they not ignore directives from him and indeed stage a coup to physically remove him from office, thereby following their oath?
I think it depends on the people. A large portion of the military tends to lean Republican, so many service members may support him regardless of his actions. That said, the military oath is to defend the Constitution, not any one leader, and they are expected to follow lawful orders—not unlawful ones. A coup would be unconstitutional in itself, so even if all service members believed Dump was violating the Constitution, removing him by force wouldn’t be the military’s role. Instead, the proper channels would be legal, through Congress, the courts, or elections. But, if there are directives they don’t agree with or believe to be unconstitutional, service members have a duty to question and, if necessary, refuse to carry them out. However, determining the legality of an order isn’t always straightforward—it typically involves military legal counsel and established procedures within the chain of command.
Ultimately, while individual service members might struggle with conflicting loyalties, the military as an institution is designed to remain apolitical and subordinate to civilian leadership, which is why any action against a sitting president would have to come through constitutional means rather than military force.
(I’m from Israel and married an American, so this is all from his mouth. There may be some discrepancies, but I tried to capture his perspective as accurately as possible. Since he’s American and has experience with how the military operates, his insights shape my understanding of this issue. Of course, individual opinions and experiences can vary, and the military is not a monolith—there are service members with different political beliefs and interpretations of their oath. I apologize if there are any spelling or grammar issues.)
I’m from the district where this town hall took place. What they didn’t say was the room could only accommodate approximately 300 people, there were somewhere over 2000 people protesting outside of the building. Mr. Edward’s should do himself a favor and resign, he’ll be voted out in the midterms
You pool-of plasma-formerly-known-as-republicans seem to forget that you work for your constituents; we are your boss. One of your jobs is to listen to the people you represent. So why did you have a veteran forcefully thrown out of your meeting when you should have been on your knees thanking him? This man was in anguish, yet you refused to hear him out. Were you ashamed because you support the muskrat et al in their charade of eliminating government fraud? You are a lily-livered pile of steaming horse shit ( apologies to lilies and horse shit). I hope you burn in hell🤬🤬
When I watched that man, who has served this country speak his mind, I got goosebumps. Watching other Americans toss him out was heartbreaking. I don't care what uniform you wear, keep your hands off our veterans you dirty bastards.
Too bad those cops had to obey the idiot sycophantic congressman and not respect the veteran's free speech rights. It's called the First Amendment FCS

That is AWFUL! And I would be entirely suspicious also. Thank-you for your service. I am not American but I believe every vet should be thanked.
Thank you, Phyllo, that almost made me cry.... ^__^
Don't forget that Dumpy is also trying to deport a man who has permanent legal residence here in the US because he protested in a way that Dumpy doesn't like. Americans, do you truly believe Dumpy's going to stop there?
We must never normalize any of this! Keep fighting!
Dear God, I happily paid for a year of your enlightenment. Whether I can pay to renew depends on keeping my Social Security income, paying my mortgage, cellphone & wifi bills. My daddy fought the fascists and here I am repeating history without the nifty government paid uniform🤯.

I'm kind of glad he didn't live to see this. :(
Canada does know how to bitch slap, don't they? 😆 🇨🇦 🍁
Too bad Canada couldn't have, instead of that tiny red carpet, left a pile of bullshit at the bottom of the stairs for Lil Marco. Preferably a steaming pile at that
A very small red carpet tor a very small(minded) man. He might be small in mind and stature, but he is a very large asshole and sycophant for t(rump).
I don't know why they bothered. It looks as though since it was already sitting in the puddle, they should have let him try to sidestep it. That would have been comedy gold.

I've been working on a YankoBoop about this one. I think I've settled on final lyrics.

Patriot Removal Service
Congressman Edwards with that freshly bought smile,
Called a town hall to pretend for a while.
"I'm listening to voters," the banner did say,
Just don't mention the cuts to your VA pay!
The mic was for questions that made him look good,
Not for veterans wondering where their benefits stood.
His handlers stood at the ready with "patriot control,"
To protect fragile egos from the truth's heavy toll.
When a veteran stood up to speak his damn piece,
The congressman's face turned the shade of disease.
"Someone remove this highly trained threat,
His combat experience makes me sweat!"
"He fought for our country but can't speak in my house,
I prefer my constituents quiet as a mouse!"
They're calling security on the guys who had your back!
Throw out the heroes, keep the political hacks!
The "Support Our Troops" sticker's fadin' on his truck,
When veterans speak truth, they're shit outta luck!
"Thanks for your service," until service talks back,
Then it's "Guards! Remove this unreasonable hack!"
Town halls are sacred, a democratic shrine,
Unless you disagree--that's crossing the line!
The audience booed as the vet was dragged out,
The congressman smirked with his patriot-free pout.
Veterans fought for our freedom to speak-y,
But using that freedom? Oh, that's way too cheeky!
"I worship the troops," he says at each rally stop,
Just not the ones asking why their benefits got chopped.
Just not the ones wondering why their friends died,
For freedoms that at home just keep gettin' denied.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we apologize for the unfortunate case of democracy breaking out at our controlled event."
"Please note that freedom of speech is limited to complementary statements and softball questions only."
"If you've been traumatized by hearing actual concerns from actual constituents, we have comfort cookies in the lobby."
"Rest assured, all remaining questions have been pre-screened for comfort and convenience."
"Remember, freedom is best enjoyed quietly and from a respectful distance!"
"And if you've served our country, please continue to do so by shutting the fuck up about it!"
They're calling security on the guys who had your back!
Silence the brave ones while the spineless relax!
Wave the flag high while you stab it in the back,
That's just politics, baby – we're professionals at that!
Wrap yourself in Old Glory, use veterans as props,
Then kick them to the curb when the camera stops!
That's the Patriot Removal Service coming through,
Making democracy safe from the red, white, and blue!
So stand for the anthem, hand over your heart,
Just don't stand at town halls – that's tearing us apart!
The bravest thing some congress folks do every day,
Is looking veterans in the eye while voting their care away.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That’s so incredibly good and true👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you 🤓

My fave professional preacher these days is Rev. Ed on YouTube, speaking to us from Canada:

If military legal personnel support Drumpf then you bet they’ll throw out their law books in deference to the Orange-utan.
It may eventually come to that... :-/
