Dad and I loved every minute of last night’s debate between Donold Trump and Kamala Harris (Watch our post-debate analysis and lol’s). As if it weren’t a great enough evening because of the debate alone, the biggest pop artist in the world also made an exciting announcement.

Minutes after the debate concluded, Taylor Swift took to Instagram to announce that she was voting for Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential Election! Millions of likes quickly piled up on the post, and Dems everywhere were thrilled to see the endorsement. Tim Walz was live on MSNBC when the endorsement happened, and Rachel Maddow got to read it to him.

“I’m voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift said in her post. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate Tim Walz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

”I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice.”

But the most important part of Swift’s post was still to come, and I want to explain why her words could swing the 2024 election.
